I think I’m done with arguing/debating on this site :)

Apart from realising that no one is prepared to have their minds changed, arguing on social media is like playing Real Tennis, or Polo - even if you win, you’re still a twat 😜

If you arent goint to even try to be honest why bother
SW-User
@Whyme Oh dear. Triggered, when I have been nothing but honest :D
Whyme · 46-50, M
@SW-User right ya have lol
Whyme · 46-50, M
@SW-User you never answered where is the power from in the home you live and do is there a gas line connected to it
SW-User
@Whyme I thought you blocked me :) I was feeling so smug 😊
Whyme · 46-50, M
@SW-User will you answer the above or no?
SW-User
@Whyme There may be a gas line connected to our house, but we're all electric here. Solar panels provide our heating and electricity, and because we signed up to the government's feed-in tariff before they slashed the subsidies to almost zero, we are actually making a profit!
SW-User
@Whyme I've just answered it. Have patience hehe
Whyme · 46-50, M
@SW-User shouldnt ya shut the gas line off? Look i dont disagree the oil industry is horrible but i do disagree that green isnt its horrible and criminal plus plastic
SW-User
@Whyme (as I said, I don't even know if we have a gas line) I agree that plastic is horrible as well. Another product made by fossil fuels. Single use palstics should be banned. We don't need them.

@SW-User i looked and you may be onto somthing with solar but my question would be if the liberals of the world really want to save the world why arent they making this affordable instead of taxing the shit out of what they dont control ?
SW-User
@Whyme But look.. It IS affordable. In fact solar and wind are often CHEAPER than fossil fuels. The trouble is, it's governments (decidedly NON-liberal) who are in the pockets of the oil companies and who are HEAVILY subsidising the continued use of fossil fuels. If they transferred their subsidies onto renewables, the transition to clean, safe and above all CHEAP energy would be miraculously rapid.

Here is the joke: Do you think Bernie Sanders is a liberal? If he had defeated Trump, the stranglehold of the oil companies in America would have been broken, the transition to EVs would have been well underway, helped by a scrappage scheme and heavy help-to-buy subsidies, and everyone would be paying FAR FAR less than they are paying now for their energy.

It was a win-win situation. If the right people get into power in America, it could be again.

@SW-User im in canada and i cant speak for the world but here the gov is liberal and to be honest seem more interested in the profit from taxing than the economy or environment to be honest my hatred for the liberal party rests on justin trudeau if that dick licker cared about the environment explain why he travels with 2 jumbo jets one just for luggage . Now i agree the world needs a different energy source where we differ is the reason you feel oil is dirty and i can see why you feel that i feel it will run out thats why i think technology can make it clean but it will still depleat i like the solar but think in this climate would need to be helper for heat with geo thermal but also feel industry would still need fossil fuel till better systems are developed as far as vehicles i see why you like ev but again where i live and work is very rural and i dont think its as effective here ive said many times ev is good for city commuting i think there is hope for hydrogen i also dont see why the internal combustion engine hasnt really been improved its only somthing like 30% efficient and this many years in that should be better
SW-User
@Whyme I agree pretty much.

Trudeau seems like a bit of a dick, but at least he has SOME interest in attempting to tax carbon, which is what needs to happen.

Oil is dirty and will eventually run out, just like coal, but not before causing irreparable damage to the climate.

Geothermal would be an awesome source of energy, but it is just not available everywhere. Iceland is the luckiest country on earth in that respect. Their hot water comes directly out the ground, which is why they pay nothing for water or heating!

EVs may not be perfect for everywhere at the moment, but they are getting that way. You may live in a rural area, but if you can have fuel stations there, you can have charging stations as well. Also, look at Norway as I mentioned earlier: a large, very sparsely populated country with great distances between towns and a lot of rural areas. They seem to be managing just fine.

Yes, the internal combustion engine is inefficient; it won't get any more efficient because its time is up. EVs will only get more efficient as the only thing that needs to improve is battery technology. And it is! Hydrogen is the big green hope, but the technology is still a long way off.

Still, the future is looking better as EVs are beginning to reach a critical mass, and soon their proliferation will be inevitable. Get over your problem with Trudeau. He can't do anything to stop this clean energy revolution that will benefit us all!

@SW-User were close enough im gonna let this go the rest we will never see eye to eye on
SW-User
@Whyme LOL I thought we were actually making some headway :P OK no worries 🙂
Whyme · 46-50, M
@SW-User well like i said you dont give two fukks about the environment if you travel with two jumbo jets so therefore the carbon tax is a lie and a cash grab, to me thats wrong i see your angle of if it acheives the goal but to me if it hurts people and you are polluting then its wrong i dont care if ya hide behind paper straws if the liberals support this fuck em
SW-User
@Whyme Then we'll agree to disagree on that point :)
Whyme · 46-50, M
@SW-User lol and as far as your naziwagon well llet me tell you a story the football team here once let an aids infected player play the game when they knew and because of that i will never support them i feel that same way about vw but thats just me thats who i am
