Abdul El-Sayed was asked straight up about Hasan Piker, the guy who has spent years soft-pedaling and defending the 9/11 attacks, and he refused to condemn him. "I'm not here to disavow people's views." That is not nuance. That is a candidate for the United States Senate shrugging at the murder of nearly three thousand Americans.
Anyone who will not draw a bright line at celebrating or excusing the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil has no business anywhere near power. El-Sayed's answer tells you everything about the company he keeps and the ideology he refuses to reject. This is not complicated. You either stand with the victims of 9/11 or you make room for the people who still justify it.
Voters in Michigan and every other state need to hear this loud and clear: a man who will not denounce a 9/11 apologist is unfit for office. Full stop. Keep this radical out. America has already paid enough blood to people who think the towers were fair game.
