America is a South Park episode.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@SinlessOnslaught It really is lol
Is working out so rare in the USA that it's suspicious if anyone does? 🤨
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@NerdyPotato I'm not entirely sure. There was a clip that someone decided to film him doing push ups on some calisthenics equipment and said it was weird like they never seen that type of work out before. Calisthenics is often done in parks, towns put out free equipment anyone can use.
The main reason though was that people were specfically suspicious because he wore a black t shirt and pants lol.
The news caster was oddly specific about the black t shirt and pants freaking people out

@NerdyPotato Also what makes this even more pathetic was that someone was filiming him doing pushups like they never seen it before.
The park which I looked up is a park that specfically put out equipment so that people can do calisthenics exercises, it says it is meant for body weight exercises specfically so I don't get what they were having a hard time with.

@SatanBurger perhaps it's all the stranger danger campaign from decades ago...

I wonder if he were dressed in light blue or green if anyone would have said anything?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MoveAlong I thought about that too. He wasn't even on a children's playground either, the park which I looked up, has a bodyweight gym outside that anyone can use. It's not like he wasn't supposed to be there. People said he was suspicious for sitting on a bench when the police said just sitting on a bench and working out isn't enough to arrest someone.
It was crazy, they were calling to do violence upon the guy and everything.
I wear all black a lot, makes me wonder lol

It's ironic how many times that I have replied on this topic today.
Anyone doing, looking, or behaving outside of the social norms WILL be attacked.
It's happened to me even. I often walk in the very early morning hours. That by itself is suspicious behavior.
Why I do it, should be irrelevant. Yet my reasoning is perfectly logical. It actually frequently gets over 115° f during the day. Sometimes over 120°f.
Yet I don't know how many nasty looks or comments I get over it. 90°f at midnight is bad enough for walking over 5 miles.
Notice I'm not referring to a park even. This is the main city streets. The park is literally closed.

@DeWayfarer You don't even realize you're violating social norms until it becomes a big deal like walking in the early morning hours or working out in black clothes lol. I find the whole thing bizarre. I just think people have heightened threat responses and make up the last suspense action story they saw in their brain like Taken.
This park was a park for all and the city even put up a calisthenics gym which they are free and all over the United States. There was even a person in the video who was filming him doing push ups like it was unusual. That's why I titled it like that because he's clearly using the equipment as intended, the person videoing him must not do push ups at all.

@SatanBurger We have such park's here as well. Yet in the winter when I have used them, there is tensions even though there's a track made just for walking.
The tension is the result that there are kids, both boys and girls, having soccer practice. It's a huge park, yet the track goes near the restroom areas.
I usually avoid using that track during the winter. I still walk the streets.
Same park is used for 4th of July celebration. It's that huge. There's literally a few thousand for the 4th of July celebration. The track runs along the outside of the park.

What...is wrong with some parts of this country? Are they dumping crazy juice in the water?

There’s so much hate directed toward those who do their own thing and are not hurting anyone but are different from the powerful people who run things.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Not sure what's going on here. His outfit is black? Lots of people wear black. Lots of women where I'm at wear these black unitard looking outfits. It's a mundane look. Why i don't know given they are all obease. Men wear black workout clothes like that to. Maybe the picture taking ? Even that is pretty common. There's workout equipment he's obviously working out so you know right away why he's there.

@SatanBurger All I can think is maybe there was something we're not being told maybe other behavior we don't know about but I doubt it. The video just shows some guy working out. That his clothes are black I can't imagine anyone even paying any attention to that.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Munumbis The cops themselves told people to leave him alone. It was for the fact he was dressed in black.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@SatanBurger That part is weird because there's nothing unusual about black clothing.

Autistic or not, any adult male who hangs around a child's playground taking random photos yet uses calisthenics as his excuse for being there instead of an indoor gym, should be treated with suspicious motives by all concerned.
Seriously, what guy chooses a child's playground to conduct his workout routine while children are there?
