That is insane. Banning that driver for three years might be saving lives. I'm glad he's off the road for a while.
Several years ago, I witnessed five drivers not allowing an ambulance to pull into hospital emergency because they didn't want to be inconvenienced with a red light they might have gotten had they waited a few moments to let the ambulance through. The ambulance driver was noticeably furious.
Every one of those drivers should have been sited and, at least, heavily fined.
My first thought (after I thought, what the hell is wrong with these people) was, what would these drivers think if they were the one in the ambulance with a life-threatening condition, and knew five people cared more about not being detained by a red light, than their life?
I don't know how people come to be so insanely selfish.
