Why do you think some on SW open a page.......but never post....and block messages so they get no contact?

I don't have any real idea, this is just my thought on that.
We as users tend to trust older accounts as apposed to new accounts. I suspect they are accounts, being active, and aging long enough to be seen as ok, but without the baggage of being an actual user, so hat later on down teh line it will be easier for them to pull off their con for whatever reason they have.
