How do you deal with people who are oblivious to your personal boundaries?

It's hard to explain, and I'm trying to generalise this without giving too much away,

But she has this pattern of when you say know, she will keep changing the way she words things and when you answer anything close enough she'll be like "cool, see you then"

And if you're smart enough to dodge those bullets, she'll talk to a friend or family member while you're not there and be all like, "they said yes"

I want to think that she's dumb and can't take a hint,
But I'm really starting to think that she's just shifty

Firmly say, "no, I already said I'm not coming" and change the subject.

And proceed to not show up when that time comes. Some people are genuinely oblivious but that's no excuse to make your life difficult or to feel obligated into showing up to appease them

@deadgerbil it's more like she will invite herself when you want space or when you just want something between you and a few select individuals etc

Like catching up with someone you haven't seen in a while and you want one on one time etc

And if I say no, she will find a way to get someone else to invite her 🤦

@Fishy you'd have to talk to your friends and family too and get a group agreement going, fully laying out your case to them. If they don't agree and invite her anyways, you may just have to abstain from social events.
