What is the most racist city or town you have ever been in?

My parents told me this story. Back in 1984 when we were moving from Houston to Chicago, we stopped for gas at a town in Arkansas. As we were about to leave, a local sheriff came up to us and talked to my parents for a couple of minutes, and then recommended that we leave by the time the sun went down, for our own safety. In fact, it was probably best if we just got back on the highway right away.

@Jenny1234 I have been to two of the three. I did not notice it, but I was only there for a few days at a time.

@AthrillatheHunt Just was down there. Lot fewer gogo's then I remember. High end ones around the football stadium

@Slade I was refused entering a restaurant in the early nineties with my four year old biracial daughter. A man and woman came outside and told me we weren’t allowed to have lunch there because they served alcohol. I thought that sounded logical. Walking to the car a couple and their child the same age walked toward the restaurant and I watched to see what would happen. They did not have to leave.

I visited my parents who vacationed there for many years and always had comments thrown my way about my daughter.

@Jenny1234 which area specifically? That's business suicide
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Slade that restaurant was at Indian Shores around 1991. But all the other places I had comments made at me
