“This is immoral” researchers reveal the abuses of RFK, Jr led efforts to revoke medical research funding.

MS NOW reports:

“ Over the course of the year, the Trump administration cut billions in funding for the National Institutes of Health, and $500 million worth of mRNA vaccine research. “There has been erosion of trust in science and public health and medicine,” said Dr. Peter Hotez, co-director of the Center for Vaccine Development at the Texas Children’s Hospital. “But it’s not random, this occurred deliberately by bad actors for political motivation.” Dr. Francis Collins, the former director of the NIH, said he’s never seen anything like this. Cuts to NIH resulted in the cancellation of 383 clinical trials affecting 74,000 trial participants. “Many of these people [have] very serious cancers for which we don't have a great answer, but maybe we're in the middle of discovering one, and then the trial gets stopped, and all that data is lost, and those people are basically left to drift,” Dr. Collins said. “This is immoral to drop somebody into that space.”

My comments:

The first mRNA vaccines were developed against the highly lethal Ebola virus, but since it is only found in several countries in Africa, it had limited utility in the United States and did not receive US research funding nor FDA approval.

mRNA vaccines first widespread applications in America began with the COVID pandemic with first Pfizer obtaining FDA approval and followed shortly afterward by Moderna in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

But the potential of this “new” technology (research into mRNA vaccines actually began in the 1960’s) is enormous.
A French research study recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Assoication (JAMA) found that patients who received an mRNA vaccine against COVID had a 74% lower risk of death from severe COVID-19 and a 25% four year risk reduction of death from all-cause mortality.

But that’s not all: this technology offers exciting potential against autoimmune disorders, Sickle Cell Disease, HIV, and cancer. Researchers from the University of Florida found that patients with advanced lung and skin cancers who receive an mRNA Vaccine within 100 days of starting immune therapy lived significantly longer than those who did not. In several smaller studies, patients did not see a return of their cancers during the duration of the studies—but longer clinical trials are needed. Researchers believe that there could be benefits in treating various types of cancers including (but not limited to): cancers of the breast, lung, pancreas, and kidneys.

Yet, over the summer Kennedy’s HHS led agencies including the FDA and NIH canceled all federal funding into this research. This decision was not based on any clinical evidence whatsoever.

Kennedy should never have been nominated yet alone confirmed to this powerful position for which he has no training, no experience, and for which is absolutely unqualified to hold.

What can you do? Contact your representatives in Congress—in particular your State Senators and demand Kennedy’s impeachment.

He wouldn't be there if it wasn't for; "I had an uncle that was a professor at M.I.T....."

It's worth a shot, and there's no doubt Kennedy's a nutcase.

But realistically, Trump's war on science (and health) isnt limited to Kennedy and getting rid of him isnt going to do much if Congress lets Trump put in another Trumpist instead of a genuine public servant.

Honestly, I think we're at the point where while we still need to staunch the bleeding and treat the infection, we can't afford to ignore the guy with the dagger still hacking away, or those helping him.

Impeaching Kennedy is relatively low hanging rotten fruit, imo.
