Yesterday, I finally got my Covid booster and a flu shot…

But while I was waiting, a woman was having her son, about 5, and daughter, around 8, vaccinated. I didn’t know if it was Covid or for the flu—but the boy got the shot with no problem, came out showing us the bandaid on his shoulder, we all congratulated him.

The girl, on the other hand, was very afraid. Her mother was cajoling, bribing, trying to reassure her, but she was not having it.
And of course the fellow giving the vaccines was waiting patiently, I was next, but the people after me were sighing and looking at their watches. The mother was clearly embarrassed, and told the girl, "we’re not going to hold up these people, but we will come back to do this, because it has to be done."

The girl said, "okay, I’ll do it". She went behind the screen, we heard her cry, and we all winced. And it was done. The nurse prepared more vaccine, The mother was talking to the pharmacist, and I said gently to the girl, "I think you were quite brave !" Her brother said, "No, she wasn’t ! She cried."
The man next to me told him, "’Brave’ is doing what you have to, even though you’re scared." That brought a smile from the girl, although her brother rolled his eyes, and then they left with their mom. 😊

I’ll never get another vaccine. I got Covid for the second time 2 months after my third vaccine. Then 3 months later I got my fourth vaccine and broke out in a bad rash and was diagnosed with Lichen planus. That turned into skin cancer. At the same time, my immune system went wacky and I was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and I have to carry around an Epi pen and live on antihistamines because my body thinks it’s allergic to everything, even though I am not allergic to anything. I’m glad the little girl was brave, but I hope she doesn’t develop any of the things I developed from vaccines.
@Mardrae It seems unlikely. From all the vaccinations that my family and friends have received (a considerable number), over the last couple of years. none described symptoms like yours. The 3 family members I lost were not vaccinated at all. And, for all I know the girl might’ve been getting a flu shot. Those have been provided there for the last 25-30 years.

@bijouxbroussard there’s no telling what kind of vaccine she was getting. Before Covid-19 hit, I had not had a vaccine in over 30 years and I never got sick. Now that I have gotten 4 Covid shots and 3 flu shots, I am sicker than I have ever been. Possibly because I already have so many autoimmune diseases. I belong to several Lichen Planus groups and have talked to many people who developed their first symptoms after vaccines . Even if you google the side effects of vaccines, it mentions <rash>…..that’s basic- they don’t tell you how bad that rash can be and that it’s a chronic skin disease that has a high rate of turning into skin cancer. Nope, they don’t tell you that. And I saw a medical article somewhere that said the cancer rates have soared since Covid vaccines have been available.
@Mardrae I’m sorry you have had that experience. There are many more people who are gone or ill as a result of the virus and with respect, this post was about my experience getting my annual vaccination. This year and last year it included the booster. It was not to open a debate about whether or not people should be vaccinated.
