I Support Vaccination

Every year I get a phone call from the seniors' center asking if I want my mother to be vaccinated against the flu. Of course I say yes and within a few weeks (today in fact) I get another phone call saying the seniors' center is in isolation since there is a major flu outbreak amongst the seniors. Makes me wonder just how effective the vaccine really is

but did your Mum catch the flu?

@LynnUK Yes. She is being treated with tamiflu. Again. They have an almost 100% vaccination rate in the lodge. It is up to those holding power of attorney to decide and overwhelmingly most decide for the senior being vaccinated. We discussed at the annual conference a week ago.

wow sorry to hear about her illness then
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@LynnUK Yeah she is a tough old bird. She didn't get to be 96 by dying from the flu. Her cousin died from the Spanish flue back in 1918 but she wasn't born for a few years yet.

@hippyjoe1955 I'm gonna stock up on anti spanish flu jabs then

@LynnUK If you want to. lol. I find it ironic that after the government and the lodge pushing the vaccine so hard one feels like an axe murderer if you don't get Mum vaccinated that the bloody vaccine doesn't do its job.

@hippyjoe1955 does anything a Government advocate do it's job properly lol

@LynnUK It would seem not. But this is the 5th year in a row. She has been in this lodge for 5 years and every year the vaccine misses its target. Who do I sue???? lol
LynnUK · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 sorry I don't know any "sue's" lol

@LynnUK My late aunt was Suzie but that is as close to any sue I know too. It is grimly humorous though.
