Is it the WHO or the Monkeys?

The World Health Organization said that as of Saturday it has confirmed about 92 cases and 28 suspected cases of monkeypox, with recent outbreaks reported in 12 countries where the disease is not typically found, according to the global health agency.

When everyone demands unfettered access devoid of precautions, it's not only Covid that's gonna make it through.

Monkeypox is a scare, a trend. It'll be a flash frame in some end-of-year show and we'll all smile and say, "Oh my God, do you remember monkeypox?"

Here's why. It's transmissible through contact with infected body fluid, much like HIV; it's very difficult to pass along. Also - and crucially - there are two 'clades' or families of the pox. The bad one, seen only in Cameroon, can be 10-12% fatal. The other clade, the one making its brief tour, is 1% fatal and may feel like a mild flu.

What you're seeing on TV is worst-case scenario, as they want it to be. Why we haven't learned our lesson on fear-mongering, I will never know.

Remember this story?

Here we go again? A bunch of diseased monkeys from Africa happened to be in a truck headed to a CDC quarantine facility, and the truck just happened to get in an accident, where the monkeys just happened to get loose? They just happened to be going to a CDC approved quarantine facility? Just another conspiracy theory?

It’s all on the merry go round of fear, BS.
World hoax organisation.
@Fairydust One has to wonder how it became news all in one day. So the illness mostly eradicated by a vaccine, reappears just after governments relax rules from a pandemic. Even if not planned, which I actually doubt was, they must have been finding stools in their pants, ummm.. we just spent two years creating a culture that listened to us again .... this is too much. It would be sadly ironic, if we got caught up on a disease that separated us, and one that was here before, which we had protection from at one time, was the actual one to consume us.

Yet I think it's media.

"Monkeypox" sounds pretty scary...
Fairydust · F
@helenS that’s what they want you to believe.

I think there is more than 11 cases in the UK, I think it's good they are keeping track of things so early on, hopefully it won't become as widespread as COVID was.

We've known about this for decades.
Sorry that the USA set the bar so low on government and so high on war that doing something isn't PC for you guys.

Monkeypox is spreading in Europe!
I thought it's a US phenomenon? Now what! 😏
