That policy is. 8400 dollars, plus a deductible for $8000 worth of insurance? Makes no sense. Setting up an MSA and depositing pretax dollars in it every month would be better. You save 28%+ depending on your tax bracket off the top if you spend it on medical expenses only. You can put up to $30K annually into it, and there is no penalty for not using it. An interest-bearing account is legal to use as the MSA (Medical Savings Account).
