Mom took my temp the „old fashioned“ way

I hate it so much 😑
Like I’m currently just a little sick but mom decided she wants an absolute super ultra accurate reading of my temperature and yeah…did it the old fashioned way…

Yours is not the only post about mothers taking their children's temperatures as if they think they are nurses in a TV hospital soap-opera.

I have had genuine medical examinations and treatment by my GP and in hospital. Several times, including two operations. I have had assorted blood tests and an ultrasound scan. At no time did anyone take my temperature.

What's the reason for this home-grown thermometer fetish?

@SW-User No need to be dismissive. I was asking out of curiosity.

Actually I recalled later I have had my temperature taken recently, prior to Covid and Influenza booster vaccinations; but by a non-contact, infra-red thermometer reading from the forehead.
