Soooo... gallbladder is going bye-bye.

Which is what I figured, from the get-go. I was away from home for Class A CDL Training when I'd taken ill with upper abdominal pain, swelling, bloating, and nausea.

It took 20 days from the first onset of symptoms, to finally make a solid determination and get surgery scheduled. I should have just gone to a GI specialist right away. It would have saved alot of pain, time and of course... money. I see the surgeon Monday morning to schedule the gallbladder removal, hopefully sooner than later.

@Musicman Ray got his C-T scan on his liver to see if shrunk enough for robotic surgery to remove the tumor. It has. But they found gallstones and didn’t know if he got stone lodged in the duct. Was supposed to have an Ultrasound on it on Thursday. The insurance company just got the request to have the ultrasound that day and they hadn’t yet got it approved. He made another appointment for this Wednesday. I have been making him beet-apple-carrot & ginger juice every day and hoping that it is dissolving the stones. That’s how I cleaned out my gall bladder about 16 years ago, and it felt like it would burst if I hadn’t done something quick.

@cherokeepatti I am so glad they can do the surgery. Can they remove the stone or will they need to remove the gallbladder? Back years ago when we lived in Virginia C had to have her gallbladder removed.

@Musicman They haven’t done the ultrasound yet and then they will decide. He is not complaining so much about bloating up now since he’s drank the beet juice mixture twice a day this week. He needs to get me some more beets. I have enough frozen juice for tomorrow and that’s it.

@cherokeepatti Sometimes I think the natural remedies is better than the drugs.

@Musicman Well one reason may be that getting nutrients along with whatever does the job helps to support the process. Beet juice has nitrates in it but those won’t harm the way pancreas and nerves nitrates in processed meats do. It’s because the vitamins in beets help keep the nitrates in beets from damaging cells.

@cherokeepatti So what does all of this do for people?
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@Musicman I don't know if this is along the same lines @cherokeepatti is pointing out.

But I have hypertension, so one thing among meds, I take are Nitric Oxide supplements (in place of beets) for energy and lowers blood pressure. In turn, it helps me stay away from caffeine, which increases blood pressure.

@Levenrack That's fabulous news. 🙂
