I Am Sick And Tired Of Feeling Sick And Tired

I have really really bad asthma, and currently it is flaring up, and my hands are shaking, and I am tired, and I can't breathe, and I don't want to deal with my life right now. Sorry, that was pretty whiny. Bleh. Hope everyone else is feeling good today!!

As an asthma sufferer myself, I can relate.

Thanks, I appreciate that you can actually. I am so tired of it. I am also allergic to the aerosol inhalers...

@Searchingforafriend: oh man. If you are allergic to them, how do you handle emergency situations?
Searchingforafriend · 26-30, F
@RisenStrength: I have been prescribed long term inhaled steroids, and there is some kind of weird German made inhaler that is based on air pressure instead of aerosol. It tastes super nasty though.

But emergency situations are really hard. I kinda almost died two weeks ago...

@Searchingforafriend: i'm so sorry.

It's okay, I have learned to live through it. Barely. I just am being whiny tonight lol.

@Searchingforafriend: it's not being whiny. it's called venting and expressing yourself.

I like the way you think! Thank you. It is nice to talk to someone who understands. No one else in my family has asthma, so no one I normally talk to actually knows what it is like not to be able to breathe. They're like "I understand what you're going through, just be calm and breathe" I'm like "I have asthma, i am panicking because I can't physically breathe!!!"

@Searchingforafriend: I know. The tightness in your chest and restricted airflow sometimes is so bad, even using a rescue inhaler makes it feel like eternity.
Searchingforafriend · 26-30, F
It does! It is scary. My new rescue inhaler takes a long time too. It isn't like the nice little blue albuterol inhalers. It is this weird thing with other ingredients that makes it take forever and makes my hands shake. And I can't use it more than once in four hours.
SW-User
@Searchingforafriend: my rescue inhaler is once every four hours as needed. I also take Symbicort, a long lasting steroid.
Searchingforafriend · 26-30, F
@RisenStrength: I was on Symbicort for a little while. It gave me heart problems cause i was kinda allergic to it. Next was Proair, the purple one. Then came Qvar. And now the drypowder inhalations.

wow...you have been through the gauntlet of medications. I hope the one you have now is working for you.
Searchingforafriend · 26-30, F
It kind of is. I accidentally just went through full steroid withdrawal cause the airlines lost my luggage. So now I am in really bad shape.

@Searchingforafriend: You may be in bad shape now, but you will recover. Promise.
