I Have Type 1 Diabetes

I've had it since 1990. I had just turned 5 when I was diagnosed.

Type 1 Diabetes is a genetic mutation (or rather, natural variation) which causes the immune system to attack the beta cells of the islets of langerhans on the pancrease, the beta cells being responsible for production of insulin, the hormone required to allow glucose into most somatic cells. The damage is permanent. A raw food diet will not magically heal the beta cells. Without insulin, even if you don't eat sugar, blood sugar levels go up, which causes a large number of adverse effects, which eating raw food will also not magically stop.
