I Have Diabetes

I was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic at 14 and later found out most likely I would have tested positive for it 2 years or more prior to when I did had the small town doctors done a thorough enough job at trying to discover what was wrong with me. I just came from a home where we usually ate healthy foods and exercised plenty so I was able to get by until the night it almost killed me. You would think since then I became somewhat of a diabetic expert you would be wrong!

My son is also a type 1 diabetic. He was diagnosed last year at 12. He seems to get very high sugar levels when he is in the sun too long. It started last summer with football practice and now it is baseball and the same ole thing is happening. Today after practice his blood glucose was 563 mg/dl and as always he was vomiting and complaining of a headache. Exercise normally brings levels down, so my only guess is it has to be the sun it was 93 here today when he was at practice. I played a lot of sports growing up including softball, by comparison, this didn't happen to me (If it did I did not notice) So I am wondering if anyone on here can relate and the sun causes your sugar to go up, or if you know someone whose sugar is affected by the temperatures (mainly sun)? If you or someone you know are/were affected by the sun did you find a solution for it?

It could be the vitamin D affecting things, if I was more awake I would probably be able to work out why and how but im exhausted
