If you are a type 1 your body doesn't make insulin so you have to take it.
Although you should still diet, exercise and watch what you eat for health reasons, type 1 diabetes is not caused by poor diet.
If you're type 2 your body makes insulin, but doesn't use it well.
With type 2 you have to watch what you eat,take medicine, and check your blood sugar numbers at least twice a day.
