Just sitting and worrying...

Our son is sitting at the hospital emergency room for the second time in three days with a blood sugar reading well over 500. The last time he was given IVs of insulin and hydration, but right now he's just sitting there waiting to be seen. My wife is sitting with him, and I'm home sitting with the dog waiting to hear something from them about what the doctors say when he sees a doctor. Thing is, he'd gone to the GP because of his previous trip to the hospital, and she saw his blood sugar levels and immediately sent him back to the ER.

UPDATE: He's home with a new prescription and a glucose monitor. Hopefully he can get this under control.

On another note, I picked my wife up from the ER earlier and brought her home. On the way into the house she was looking at the tress in the yard, talking about how pretty things were, and forgot to look where she was going, stepped into a hole and fell. She's okay, but it scared me because the last time she fell she broke SHOULDER.

It's been a helluva an evening.
I was in the same boat a couple years ago. Changed my diet and I no longer need insulin or pills.

One has to assume there is a reason for this and it does beg the question how it happened.😷

@ChipmunkErnie Unless something is really weird here the patient is doing something way wrong.and not managing themselves..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I think that's part of it. Plus two of the meds he's on evidently increase blood sugar. But now he's on a glucose monitor and feeling well enough to go to work this morning.

@ChipmunkErnie Good news..There is a lot out there on managing blood sugar, short term and long term. Looks like the family has a lot of reading up to do. In my experience you cant wait for the doctors to notice.. I spent years educating mine...😷
