To my fellow diabetics (t1 or t2):

Do you ever notice your numbers spiking after an intense workout or exercise session ? Are there any tricks to curb that, like maybe drinking a lot of water before testing again ?
(I’m not insulin dependent)

My grandad was just diagnosed with type 2 this week...
It's going to be a major learning curve for us all.
@Mellowgirl Yes. When I was first diagnosed my doctor enrolled me in classes that explain testing supplies, ways that one has to be careful, I posted about it in the group "I Am Diabetic" here. If they offer insurance-covered classes here, the NHS probably provides them in the UK, too. Very, very helpful. Best wishes to him and your family. 🙂

@bijouxbroussard thank you.
My grandmother is really sharp despite them being in their 80s.
She's been watching and worrying about my grandfather for months.
The main issue with him is skipping meals and losing far too much weight.
He can sometimes go the whole day without eating.
I don't understand what's going on.
The drs even gave him things like complan to help boost him to replace food.
I think he's been a little careless. But my nan thinks it's early onset.

The NHS here are really good with diabetes tbh. It's just important he takes his meds starts exercising again (covid messed up their routine) and attend the check up clinics.
