I have diabetes

I've recently just been diagnosed with diabetes after noticing some worrying weight loss and I'm scared
It is manageable so don't worry too much. It takes a toll on the body a lot like accelerated aging. Just take your meds. Eat as close to guidelines as you can. Soluble fiber like in legumes is a big help. Or just down some Metamucil regularly. Peanut butter can help stabilize your blood sugar if it gets too low or high. Keep some candy or glucose tabs on you for emergencies. And Def protect your senses like eyes and ears.
Here's the deal. Most often, if you take it seriously and listen to your doctor, take your meds and watch your diet, it won't cause much disruption in your life.

I watched four immediate family members NOT take it seriously, and all had serious complications and, eventually, death.

My oldest son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was about your age. Almost 20 years later he is doing fine. I noticed bit of middle aged spread going on around his tummy. You will do fine. Just be careful.

There are books on reversing diabetes. Maybe that can help
