International Travel

Given that on a global scale the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be getting worse do you think people should be able to travel internationally with so much freedom. I know from the UK it should be essential travel only but are weddings and funerals really essential?

Definitely Not..Australia has kept Covid out partly by shutting down Borders.
Now we are trying to bring back Australian Citizens (of Indian Origin), to be clear) who became trapped there in our shutdown. 150 seats were available and vulnerable people who were checked as Covid free by authorities were put in quqarantine for 3 days and checked by Australian testing and 40 of them tesed positive, so cant fly out.
The poor quality control on Indian testing is the reason that repatriation flights were suspended in the first place. We need to create the quarantine spaces in OZ before we can allow any new arrivals and need to isolate Positive tests as they happen.

@whowasthatmaskedman You guys seems to be doing things well, it's such a pity more countries don't follow your example.

@MrAverage1965 Being at the @$$ end of the planet helped. and Our Federal government acted quickly and got every state coordinated early. Some lock downs (in our state) were brutal and four months long. But pretty much everyone was on the same page. The Vaccine rollout is lagging. But it looks like no international travel for another year at this rate.
