Apparently Fox News in America went off on this bizarre rant:

Does this strange woman understand that these ‘camps’ are [i]hotel rooms[/i]? (until recently all costs were paid for by the New Zealand taxpayer).The hotels are used to quarantine and test new arrivals into the country.

If you refuse to be tested, you’ll have to stay in your hotel room longer... or go back to your own country (it’s your choice)

America has become a world-wide laughing stock... and this sort of nonsense is not helping 😂

@LeoWulf The difference it that CNN et all agree with nations locking up their citizens who are accused of not taking a covid test or not accepting the mandated vaccine or not wearing a mask while walking down the street or walking down the street without government permission. Canada is busy building death camps too. I am sure there are lots of karens around that will man the watch towers and force the inmates into the ovens.

@hippyjoe1955 I just popped down to the shops. I wasn’t required to wear a mask, I wasn’t required to socially distance, and I certainly didn’t need anyone’s permission.

That’s because we have no community transmission of covid-19. None. Zero.

We have several confirmed cases currently being isolated in our terrible death camps after arriving from overseas. They’re having to endure room service, a comfortable bed with fresh linen, free internet, and an [i]en suite[/i] bathroom!

@hippyjoe1955 If I were diagnosed with covid-19 I would be required to self-isolate in my home (where I’m pretty sure I would somehow manage to be comfortable)
