The problem of both parents working outside

Now that kids are coming back to school,it is likely that at some point schools must close if infections appear, and parents will have a big problem if they both work outside, it would be a good time to reconsider this model of society in which both parents often have to bring a salary home.

It is a time to evaluate how we want to live our lives, whether we should be working hard in order to be able to afford the next car or condominium or exotic holiday. It is a lot about the choices we make. It is also about the kind of jobs available for us to take so that a household can survive on a single income. It is about time think deeply about their roles in nurturing a family and about the trade offs that happen when both parents work. In a society where parental duties are outsourced to schools, we also have to think of the impact on teachers who have their plates full trying to teach and inculcate good character in the kids.

@novembermoon You are so right. We have created a society where we have to produce in order to earn the money we need to consume, consuming is necessary to produce more...a vicious cycle that has proven quite fragile. So, when we are not able to act mainly as producers (because we need to take care of children, for instance), the cycle is broken.
