Since you didn't get any reply then I guess you're fine I don't think they'd just leave a sick person oblivious to it if they have covid

@BlueHorizon some in my town have waited 20 days
BlueHorizon · 26-30, M
@Sunnykel76 Oh damn that's really bad normally you'd want to just do the tests as fast as possible and tell people so they can know what to do, whoever is managing the situation there could do better
Elessar · 26-30, M
@BlueHorizon It depends on how many swabs and how many labs/machinery and personnel you have. It's not that they make you wait on purpose, lol
BlueHorizon · 26-30, M
@Elessar 10 days is a long ass time, too long, you'd want to get those results as fast as you can so you can know who to quarantine otherwise testing is useless

@BlueHorizon I don't know about the US in general but I know one person who waited ten days for a positive result and it was another day until the state health department contacted her.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@BlueHorizon At least in my country, while you don't know the result yet you're still mandated to quarantine and you're treated exactly as if you were positive by the authorities.

@BlueHorizon Also PCR tests aren't a joke, they take a lot of time, they're risky for the operators who have to manipulate potentially infectious samples (they're processed in BSL-3 and 4 labs over here), and require both trained personnel and expensive equipment.
