My summer actually started early as my school shut down, While I had many online meetings, online conferences, and paperwork, my workdays and workload was definitely reduced. I was fortunate as my assignment was a high needs SE Pre-K class. The upper grades had a greater workload.

I have been working every summer at a day camp. Not this summer! Camp was canceled. Instead, I am working two jobs. I am working at a hotel and a supermarket to pay my summer rent. Teachers don’t get paid in the summer contrary to what some people think.

I have to get up around 4:30 AM to get ready for the hotel job 5-6 mornings a week. I work from about 6-12 there. Sometimes, I am asked to work longer though.

I work 4-5 evenings at the supermarket as either a bagger or a cashier. Usually, I work from 4-8.

I won’t be going anywhere this summer. My social life is pretty non-existent. I do GE together with a couple of friends each week. Sometimes, friends come back here from elsewhere to visit family and I get together with them too.

I live in a tourist area and business is down despite what the Chamber of Commerce says. It is obvious. The hotel has definitely taken a hit from what I have been told. The Fourth of July crowd was definitely down in town and on the beaches. Our big road race was even canceled.

Overall, my summer has been okay. I need to find time to get my hair dealt with and get to a couple of my doctors and dentist, if possible.
@Fauxmyope2 around here teachers have the option of taking their salary in one of two ways, for the school year or the calendar year.

@JustwantPeace It is nice that they have that option.

@Fauxmyope2 I agree. Most of them take the calendar option. Teachers start at over $60,000 in this district so that's a good way to do it.

@Stereoguy Wow! We didn’t have anything like that at my HS. That is pretty cool to offer that.
