There are rumours going on about beards and Covid19. Not that I have one, but the men in my family are all heavily bearded. They are acting like those models crying to get their hair chopped 🤭🤭🤭
All jokes aside hair is partly designed to keep unpleasant things away from orifices of the body. Unfortunately it doesn't do much for something that microscopic.
Having had gone through Full hazmat training (with numerous refreshers) even "zappa" is incorrect. Clean shaven is the only correct answer for the N95 face mask! It has to do with fitting! Not all mask designs are the same!
@Quizzical I know but some people are not very hygenic. We have deodorant & some people dont use it. I just think long beards are less hygenic if not taken care of.
The military has strict standards for hair, beard etc. That is so the equipment fits. Hitler actually had that weird stache because the gas mask wasn't fitting right so he cut off the sides.
My beard is mid chest in length and is a sign of a covenant that I have no intention of breaking so I won't be shaving anytime between here and the grave. Most of my kids have never seen me without a beard.
@SW-User It's more about the effectiveness of wearing the masks when there's beard involved.🧔

@Darkmare but masks only work to keep infected people from getting healthy people sick, so there's that. Unless it's a sealed respirator which most people don't have. 🤷♀️
@SW-User Maybe it is for the bearded sick people. They need to wear the masks the right way from spreading. I did check and it is recommended mainly for those in healthcare. But it made some men worry 🤭
@SW-User Most probably related with the masks fitting. Like my husband has a very thick beard, the mask doesn't really help. But still, the beard is more important to him 😆

@Darkmare he can use a beard trimmer. However it is better to have no beard and mask on. 😅
