I Have Bacterial Vaginosis

It is caused by an overgrowth of natural vaginal bacteria. Not a lot of people know this, but we have both good and bad bacteria. It causes an imbalance with your hormones and for some women it can affect your ability to conceive. It isn't sexually transmitted and can't be spread to another person although for some reason a lot of people think it is sexually transmitted which I can see why by looking at the name of the condition. I did not have symptoms so in case it happens again I don't really know what to look for. I am on a prescription for it that should take care of it. Even though it can not be transmitted sexually it is recommended not to be penetrated while you are being treated for it as it could cause damage. I am just giving this information in case another female is experiencing this or at some point may experience. I found out I had it September 7th. This is my first time with it, but I am doing a lot of research. I took notes from my doctor also and it's actually a common thing and not much to worry about. It varies from female to female, but is unlikely to be severe.
