Anybody taking Mounjaro ?

How is it working out for you ?

My Mother has had a phone call from someone described as a Doctors Assistant (a role I'd never heard of in the UK) asking if she'd like to be part of a weight loss program taking it.

She said she wanted to discuss it with her family first.

All sounded a bit odd to me when she told me about it so I did a bit of research.

Some of the listed side effects were disturbing.
Especially for a patient in their early 80's with other health conditions.

But, in the interest of information gathering (Since she doesn't know anyone with similar conditions to her own to ask) thought I'd ask here.

I take it. The first few weeks were hard for me but I’m happy with the dose I’m in now and the side effects are minimal atm.its not a magic fix tho you still need to count your calories and put in the work exercising. Lots of people don’t realise that. Its a tool to help you loose weight not a magic fix.

I did for 2 months total the side effects were brutal for me.
Vomited every day and constipation so bad that last a week before I stopped.
I have diabetes 2.

@Picklebobble2 I am not sure vomiting every day is "healthy"' ,but that is me.

@Justmeraeagain But lots of people taking it are being sick(er)
That's why I doubt it's worth taking.

@Picklebobble2 I believe if I would have took it longer I would have had serious issues.

Dont take it if you have any problems with your eyes.
my husband prescribes it to control diabetes. sees lower A1C in those he does

@saragoodtimes it's how it affects his patients while they're on it that concerns me.

But from your husband's perspective, would he recommend it because it works or is he being asked to prescribe it ?

First off I would call your doctor directly. I have never heard of them calling you asking if you would be interested in anything. Make sure it's not a scam artist trying to get something from you. My wife is getting set to take it.

@Picklebobble2 Sounds like you should avoid it then. If you're doctor didn't prescribe it I wouldn't call those people back.

@Musicman Amazing how the word 'paranoia' is banded about the minute you question the logic or motive behind something 'recommended' by the medical profession.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 If your doctor recommends it and is administering it and watching over you I am fine with it. If it's someone calling out of the blue trying to scam you I would avoid it.
