TRIGGER WARNING ⛔ gross, poop, sickness, blood

DONT READ lol


I know someone who's been sick for over two weeks, maybe three, with a stomach thing. Has been pooping liquid with blood, like 10 times a day or more. Has anyone ever heard of or had anything like this happen? Lab results aren't back yet but a CT scan determined no growths / tumours. They are now on an antibiotic. Giardia maybe?

Persistent watery diarrhea with blood for weeks isn’t typical GI upset. Infectious causes like giardia, C. diff, or other bacterial colitis are possible, but IBD should also be on the radar if labs come back negative. Glad imaging ruled out masses and that they’re being worked up.

@mindstruggle and makes sense because he's always had some sort of digestive abnormality but since it's not painful it hasn't been diagnosed. Men hate doctors 😒

Ah one of those people. 😬
They normalize abnormal digestion until it really flares up. Hopefully stool studies and follow up help connect the dots.
