Is there really anything a person can do to help Parkinsons disease?

I went with my dad to his spine specialist check up on his MRI yesterday. He was told he actually might have Lou Gehrig's or Parkinsons. He was leanimg more towards Parkinsons. I asked if there's any medication or treatment for either of those and he said no. But I read online it's due to lower dopamine and there's medications to help with symptoms. But my dad just wants to be done with testing. His only symptom is feeling heavy in his legs and shuffles his feet

My dad had Parkinson's but I'd take that over ALS 100 times. With Parkinson's you can still do well for years
