I've gotten the worst stomach flu in the history of stomach flus

Well at least I guess I'll lose weight. Although I would've preferred another method 😬

Dude my kids and husband have it… my daughter is finally on the mend, my son started after her so he’s still in it (vomited through last night, watery diarrhea).

It’s been horrific and I’ve been caring for and cleaning up after everyone’s yucky sick. Washed my hands so many times they are fucking burning and cracked.

I don’t know how I’m ok thus far, but I’m not feeling too cocky/confident… I’m terrified it will hit me

All I can say is drink water (small sips spaced out non stop). I got the kiddos pedialyte freeze pops and they enjoyed them, my husband even had one. I started the kids on probiotic, I’ve been on one for a while now and wonder if that’s what is keeping me “ok”?

I am so sorry… I hope it passes quickly, my daughter was down for 4.5days and she was the first to have it

@WaryWitchWandering The weitd fact is, I never get anything like this seasonally, I'd say it's worse at least for now than the traveller's stomach bugs I caught when llvisiting north Africa, and I can guarantee those were bad enough to remember them vividly a decade later 😬

One of my parents caught a strong flu like illness (or maybe the flu itself although they're vaccinated), so I wonder if maybe it's manifesting differently on me, since I have a daily habit to use saline spray for the allergies that seems to help a lot with winter bugs (heck even dodged COVID from someone who was 100% antigen positive a month ago, and who I saw daily), but it could've very well spared the airways to infect the guts.

The alternative option... perhaps the raw egg I had in carbonara yesterday 😬

@WaryWitchWandering I remember those days when my siblings and I would all get sick and mother and father too. Yuck

@Elessar I doubt it’s the raw egg….unless at a restaurant you’re unfamiliar with, or in your home and using iffy eggs

@WaryWitchWandering Home, supermarket eggs. I never had an issue with those, but you know even a 0.00x% chance event may happen if you're lucky enough 😬

@WaryWitchWandering It's usually from E Coli, from feces.

@JimboSaturn for us I know it’s bc on new years we were with in laws and my niece/the kiddos little cousin vomited and then went on to have a 6 day diarrhea and sick fest

We got it from other people, also my child started school for the first time this year and we have gotten everything. RSV in November kicked our asses
