Mysterious Illness from Hell

I've been very sick for almost 4 months now. It would take too long to describe all the painful symptoms. Don't know the name of my illness because I've been way too sick to get to a doctor. I'm 77 years old and ready to die if it's my time. I have no family and all my contemporaries have moved hundreds or thousands of miles to live with their adult children. I have no children, no family. I was an only child so no siblings. Its been a painful and very lonely time for me. I have started to feel better these last 2 weeks. Until today I was unable to even post a message here. Just too sick. Now it looks to me as if I might recover. At least I am almost well enough to see a doctor now and will go one of these days. My health service doesn't do much for old folks. I'm in a lot of pain of various kinds most of the time. I am pretty much bedridden. Being a Christian helps (converted from Judiasm about 3 years ago).

Not much to say. Sorry this post is so boring and depressing. Just wanted to reach out to people for the first time in months. I'm in pain and lonely. If you even just let me know you've read this, I will feel less alone and that will help. Four months of multiple kinds of pain plus total loneliness really sucks. Hope this post finds all who are reading it in excellent health. The value and importance of good health can never be overestimated. Thank you for reading my post.
I am so sorry you are going through rough times, and I wish life had provided you with help to get through it.

I will DM you my phone number. Call me when the lonely gets too intense - or just to chat.

@Mamapolo2016 That is very kind. And I will take you up on it one of these days (or hours). Thanks for caring.
@greenmountaingal We got this far, we have to stick together!

I’m sorry you’re in such a horrible situation I hope you feel better and is able to go see a doctor. Wish I could help
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Prettybratbi1tch Your good wishes help, believe me. I live alone in one room in a roominghouse and all my roommates are grouchy old combat veterans. I respect them for their service and their bravery but have no friends here; I'm an aging Haight-Ashbury hippie of the old days. All my friends have either died or moved away to be near their adult children. I am old (77) and in pain most of the time. Depressed. Not hopeful about the future unless you count death and the hope of seeing Jesus Christ when I die.
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
@greenmountaingal I feel better now knowing my good wishes help you
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Prettybratbi1tch Yes they do! Thank you for letting me know someone out there wishes me well. It does help.

UPDATE: Still sick but fewer symptoms. Still have itchy rash over whole body. Bladder still painful and leaky. Depressed most of the time but cheered a little to know there are people out there (on this wrbsite) who care and wish me well. Doctor keeps sending me meds that so far haven't worked. Now he can't send me anymore meds because my credit card doesn't work! Too tired and miserable to figure out what to do. Thanks to all you good people on here who have wished me well. Most days I just pray to die. An itchy rash covers my body and I lie in puddles of urine due to a bladder infection. After months of this I feel so defeated I just pray to die. Lonely. In 11 months of being sick I haven't had 1 visitor and very few phone calls; most phone calls in my life are sales pitches. I am living a useless lonely painful life and wishing it would end.

Oh honey, I understand and have been in that situation myself, before. My heart and prayers go out to you. You're definitely not alone, though it feels that way. Please keep us updated. I sure hope and pray you get your strength back soon and get well soon. We are pulling for you.

Much love,

Grace

greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@LadyGrace Thank you for your kind wishes and the very beautiful picture.
Carissimi · F
I thought about you the other day because I hadn’t seen you around for some time, but people come and go here all the time. I am so sorry you have suffered alone like this. That’s horrible. I get lonely and depressed even being in good health, I can only imagine how worse it feels to be so unwell. Do you think it’s long Covid?

Can you call social services to get you some home help? Anyway, I’m so glad you are feeling improved, and to see you back here. Welcome back!

Please see your doctor ASAP. May you continue to improve, and be with us for many more years to come. {hugs} 💜🥀💐
Carissimi · F
I know more than myself are glad to see you back with us. Take it easy, though, and I pray you get the help you need to recover completely. We are here for you. 🤗@greenmountaingal
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Carissimi Unfortunately I am in that all too common category of old people who have just enough money not to qualify for any kind of help but not enough to actually afford much help. And I am alone in life; friends have moved far away or died. I do appreciate your response to my post; thanks for caring.
DallasCowboysFan · 61-69, M
@greenmountaingal Do you qualify for government assisted housing / section 8, or perhaps an assisted living / residential nursing home ? There are more people that care about you, and wish you well than you know about.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
I understand. All my parents' generation is deceased and half of my generation. So we are next I guess :)

I hope the pain and discomfort isn't affecting your appetite and ability to get and prepare food. Depending on where you live, there may be home delivered meals or senior centers that serve lunch. Enjoying lunch there may also give you a heads up in what else may be available.

I already know that you have a lot to say so please keep posting here.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Heartlander Thank you for caring about me. I greatly appreciate it.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Heartlander I just had all 5 of my newly delivered Meals on Wheels stolen from my door where they'd just been delivered. Very discouraging. And I'm hungry! Haven't figured out what to do yet. Want to murder the jerk who stole them from me.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@greenmountaingal call the senior center and/or the city/county aging department ASAP... the people who coordinate the delivery. They often have extras. They may even have planned for such situations. If you don't know who to call, call the mayor's office and someone there will be able to redirect you.

And why 5 at once? Are they frozen meals?

If you can't find who to call message me with you location (city-state) and I'll try to find a number for you. Practically every city/county has a unique arrangement for senior meals, so there's no one-size-fits-all.

@Fluffybull Thank you!
Monday · F
I am sorry to hear that you are so sick. I hope you have simple foods you can easily heat up or have something with toast to give you strength to fight this. I wish I lived close by so I could help you by making food for you and keeping your clothes and bed linen clean.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Monday Thank you for your good wishes. They do help. Recently a nice young friend arranged to get me Meals on Wheels. And I am feeling slightly better so I can go out to get food if I have to do so. Life sucks for me lately but I think I am getting better slowly.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I’m sorry you are going through that. I was thinking you might have a gluten problem.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@cherokeepatti I eat very little bread or grains or cereal. Probably not gluten. Its just some kind of infection or something like that.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@greenmountaingal parasitical infections are a lot more common than we realize and there’s various ways to get infected, through food, water, soil, etc. I wish you could get tested. You mentioned your digestive symptoms. I think most medical doctors don’t consider parasites. Whatever helped you feel better I hope it continues…
michelle44 · 56-60, F
I can certainly relate ,in a similar situation myself ..life would be bearable if only didn't have all the pains etc and could get out
I am so glad that you are feeling better.
I am happy to see you here again.

Please keep us posted.

@Confined And a hug to you! Thank you for your compassionate reply!

Selah ·
Hopefully you can get something for the pain soon.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@Selah Don't know what; I've tried aspirin and other home remedies. Smoking pot helps a little. If I survive this I will never take good health for granted again!
