Do People's Eyeballs Ever Freeze?

You know, when it's -30°F or -40°F? Asking for a friend.

Cornea freezing has only ever been reported among mountaineers and parachutists from not having their eyes protected at high altitude and high wind conditions.

@swirlie well they will unfreeze ifyou come inside. It usually lasts less than 48 hours. You can use lubrication drops and goggles before going outside. But im just saying it is possible.

That is correct and yes, it is possible for the cornea to temporarily freeze in extreme situations as I've described, considering the eyeball itself will not normally freeze because of the saline in tears which otherwise prevents any fluid in the eye from freezing.
