I Don't Need Drugs and Alcohol to Have Fun

The fact that as soon as you turn 18/21 (depends on where you live), drinking alcohol is a sign of adulthood and being free to do what you want really annoys me. Nothing fun about addiction and damaging your liver.

Wow - where do you live?
Living in a free country, whilst we can't buy alcohol until age 18, people here are legally allowed to drink alcohol from age 5. Many older kids and almost all teenagers here will have drunk alcohol at weddings, New Years etc.

I would have thought that not allowing people to drink until age 18 would make it seem like a "cool" "adult" thing to do and make it seem more appealing? I don't have any stats to back that up.
