We only drink sugar free drinks. I don't notice the difference.

I guess aspartame and acesulfame potassium (also known as Ace-K or Sweet 1) doesn't have an aftertaste like other fake sugars.

I'd rather have sugar

If it tastes the same, and just as sweet, the recipe must have replaced the sugar with some other sweetener that does not itself have much flavour.
