What do you think of this situation?

At my old job almost every other week there was a party. We all had to bring enough junk food for around 20 people. The two tables were packed with cake, chips, dip, cookies, pie and more. I was struggling to lose a pound. I couldn’t help but nibble at the food because it was right next to me. It was terrible and I was frustrated. Even though I didn’t eat too much of it I still was gaining weight. I think the constant parties and amount of food was the reason. The food would last for days. I told them that it is soo unhealthy to have these parties constantly but they were obsessed. I didn’t understand their mindset. Why don’t you just go buy yourself a good lunch and forget about making a stupid junk food party. I was just out of my mind with them. Now that I left I lost 8 pounds already. Thank God

That’s crazy, why so often? There’s no need for that, it’s so gluttonous.

When I was working we would only have a party like that around Christmas.

They were wayyyyy toooo gluttonous! My supervisor even refused to feed the other people working at the company even though there was enough food to go around. They acted like they never saw junk food before. It was just insane. @iamonfire696

@SW-User it’s hard to resist stuff like that when it’s right there in your face. I totally get it.

True especially when I was bored or stressed @iamonfire696

@SW-User I have started tracking everything I put in my mouth for the last month and I have lost 10 pounds in a month.

Yah I will eat my emotions too. Trying not to do that anymore.

@iamonfire696 that’s awesome, the only way to keep fit is to track what you eat. They made parties for people that quit. They made parties monthly for people that had birthdays. They made parties for the stupidest things. I had to go to the grocery store after work to buy junk food which I really fgggg hated. They practically forced me and others. I do think they were kind but I don’t appreciate them forcing me to participate when I’m struggling with my weight. Many of the women there have huge bellies and look like they are about to explode. They can just pack a good lunch and enjoy it. There is no need for these pig out parties.

@SW-User that’s so crazy. If someone was retiring we usually went out for dinner to celebrate their retirement.

If someone had a birthday and wanted to celebrate it was up to them to bring a cake. I worked in a hospital though so at Christmas there was always chocolates, baking, etc because families of patients would bring that stuff in for the staff but that didn’t happen all the time.

The surgeons would bring donuts, muffins for staff occasionally too.

I am glad you got away from that place.

@iamonfire696 What you’re explaining is normal. Where I was at they had a 5 day party meaning they brought in soo much food that the 10-15 of us couldn’t finish it for days. An occasional donut is fine but not cake, cookies, chips and more for a week.

@SW-User that’s so crazy. I have never heard of that at a workplace before.

Me neither, at the job I had before that one we had a big party only once or twice but they had really great sweets at those parties, lol. @iamonfire696
