I‘ve never heard of them. Have you ever grown Egyptian walking onions or bunching onions? They end up being perennials and are prolific. The bunching onions seemed to get tough pretty early when the weather warmed up. But until then I’d cut a couple handfuls every morning and wash & chop them for scrambled eggs and onions for breakfast.

I have not...I hope the ones I planted are prolific perennials because they are delicious.
Thanks for your reply.

@Atlotto perennials as much as possible is the way to go. The ones we had were so prolific that my uncle said they were trying to take over the garden. He dug up most of them and threw them in the edge of the woods and they started growing there. I was probably the one to eat the bulk of the bunching onions because I used them for scrambled eggs. They would have a much longer season where the weather was milder in the spring-summer and didn’t get up into the 80’s so soon.

Indeed...But I made the mistake of planting mint in the ground. Man, that stuff spreads like wildfire.

@Atlotto What variety of mint did you plant?

@cherokeepatti The wildfire variety...jk...I don't remember the variety, but it took me years to get rid of it.

@Atlotto I love spearmint, make tea with it. Use quite a bit of it for that and it’s good to mix with green tea. Makes my stomach feel cool and good for digestion. And can make a drink to help me feel cooler in the summer when I have to be out in the heat…mint + cardamom seeds + fennel seeds blended with water and strained. I read about this on an Indian website and holy smokes it is really quick and effective. I am prone to heat exhaustion so it’s really a good thing for me.
