I didn't manage 10k... I had to stop somewhere between 8 and 9000 calories 😩
I started with 4 thick peanut butter sandwiches and a carton of orange juice, then took the dog for a walk. I came back and watched my first movie with a bottle of coke and a bag of M&Ms. Ordered a Chipotle pre-lunch. Then some pasta and veggies and a couple more cans of Coke. Had a break for 30 minutes and went out for a slow walk (waddle) with the dog again 😅 I don't even want to list the rest as it was a lot 😱 A pizza, some cheesecake, McDonalds...
I felt like Thanksgiving x3, I was so stuffed full that my body became pretty uncooperative in things like getting up, bending, walking 😅 I don't know if I'd do it again though, and definitely not for a long time if I did.
@Emele that's really impressive still! A lot of people underestimate how much food you have to eat to get calories that high. Once I challenged myself to eat 6000 calories every day for five weeks to win a weight gain competition, and I was basically packed to capacity 24-7. My record was about 8000 calories in one day, and I barely managed it. By the end of it, I had gained almost 40 pounds.
I genuinely am puzzled - even someone involved in very strenuous activities all day in harsh conditions doesn't expend 10 000 calories* a day.
Five times the "reference value" of daily energy expended by the average adult, of 2kcal., which is approx.8.2kJ. (I found these values on various food packets in my own kitchen.)
Someone like a building-site labourer might expend 4kcal, especially in cold weather. Probably 5kcal for a mountaineer in very high mountains, or a polar explorer manually hauling a sledge across the terrain.
It may not be the case for you but do these foolish "challenges" come from an absurd, self-destructive drive wilfully to become dangerously obese?
......
* The calorie and kilocalorie are obsolete units with a rather messy history.
The kilocalorie (kcal) is still quoted on food labels along with the equivalent in the modern units of energy, the joule (J) and kilojoule (kJ), adopted internationally as long ago as 1948!
@ozgirl512 🤷♀️ There is inequality, yes. But me ordering a pizza doesn't take it from the table of someone else. You may disapprove and I get it, but I won't feel guilty for 'having' because others are 'have not'. I think it's wrong that people are starving too of course.
And to an extent, I didn't choose to want this... it's a compulsion. I can choose to give in to it or not, but it's the way I'm made.
You see I must maintain a 3,000 calorie diet as is. Which is hard enough to do. I'm classified as severely underweight. And have had problems all my life.
Having a high metabolism really s*cks! 😞
FYI I'm eating tostada chips right this moment with sour cream as a dip!
@Emele I'm sitting in front of a full family pack of Oreo cookies. That's 160 calories for three cookies. I might manage to eat a full row that's 853.33 calories!
