Cheat Days on a Diet? How often?

I am on a Paleo Diet and my goal is to achieve a 40 lb weight loss by the end of 2022. Since I started sometime this week I have done a good job at sticking to the diet; however today last minute I made a pizza for my Dad and decided to have some and call it a cheat day since it probably isn't good to restrain myself from bread and cheese forever. So how often should I have a cheat day? I was thinking every Sunday and then Monday through Saturday I'd do Paleo. Do you think a cheat day this frequently will stop me from reaching my weight loss goal? Obviously, also holidays and birthday parties will be cheat days as well when they happen. So tell me what you think and give me any tips or advice that you can give.

What makes you say that I shouldn't have any cheat days? @Iwillwait

@MightyLion you want success? Success is gained by discipline. I hate the term "Diet," you use that term you're guaranteed to gain it all back plus more. The greatest percentage of success in weight management is by lifestyle changes, not "Diet." What that means is, how you eat, is how you eat (forever) you decide to change your lifestyle once a certain weight is achieved, you'll soon start going back to old ways and the pounds will creep back on and then some more.

So..cheat days? No.
For me, at least, this was the deal.

I learned that the fewer carbs I ate, the fewer I wanted. Meaning, cheat days gave me more cravings.

But then again, feeling constantly deprived isn't good either.

My advice would be to aim to extending the gaps between cheat days.
