Not really true. There wasn't the same availability of junk food in the 60s as now. For example, 24 hour open shops and vending machines everywhere weren't as common, so getting a snack at any time wasn't an option. Also people had more regimented eating habits (the same thing that adopting intermittent fasting does)
Keto, intermittent fasting etc aren't fad diets (intermittent fasting isn't even a diet) and they have helped people who adopt them lose weight. Cico isn't a diet either, just the most basic form of weight regulation (eat less than your body uses = lose weight)
Not sure where you get that overweight people were "nearly nonexistent". There were perhaps less in percent, but they sure existed

@hdiddle obesity rates were lower. The average was less fat.
