I think I'm improving my skills using Blender

I can watch videos like this and imagine ways that I might solve similar problems, if I were him

I didn't see the video (yet), because

but regardless, one thing I've learned about art in general, is that to get better, focus on one thing at a time, and try to make passable art out of that one element.

eg: a long time ago on DeviantArt, I watched this artist make art just with 3D spheres and primitive shapes.

and even though it wasn't a highly detailed model, he was focused on the composition of the shapes and mastering the lighting and colours, etc.

and the art still looked really cool.

I don't think he ever directly mentioned this, but it's kinda the vibe I was getting.

I also used to have a subscription to CG Cookie years ago, and it really helped me get a grip on the basics.
(granted, I will probably have to review it again because I haven't used blender in ages, lol)

Also, kudos for sticking to it! c:

@Fishy yeah, it's kind of frustrating figuring things out sometimes.

But I find I'm happy within each stage of evolution I'm in. And if something is beyond my ability, I can usually find a thinking outside the box kind of fix

Thank you.

(This guy is building a space ship. Too bad the video doesn't show. That's a bummer)
