If I offered to tell you with absolute certainty the time and the exact day and method of your death would you want to know?

The flip of this is that there would be nothing you could do to prevent it. It was a set thing. No matter what else you did circumstances and events would change to make sure that you met your fate in the way and at the time specified.

For example even if you attempted suicide before the prescribed time and date you would fail through some event outside of your control. You would still suffer, it would change things. For example if you tried to shoot yourself in the head to avoid your fate a bird might hit the window at the exact moment startling you and throwing off your aim so you only disfigure yourself. Or the gun malfunctions. Or the trigger breaks instead.
