Ex has been extremely unusually nice
I'm not sure if it's because it's my birthday month, or if it's because he is picking up the shift in my energy since I met the new guy, and he's trying to "win me back" in a weird way.
Over the weekend he was lavishing me with compliments, which is not normal. Told me I'm "se×y without realizing it". After my workout, when I made a passing remark about my having gained weight, he said, "When you gain weight you don't look sloppy, you just get bustier, curvier. It looks good."
Oh?
Well where in the hell was THAT observation when we were still together? Where was that complimentary guy then? 🤔
I'm not falling for it. He said those things, but he also was gushing out loud over hot women on his phone, obnoxiously, almost like he wanted me to be bothered by it (I wasn't. I knew from day one I'm not his type, so it has never shocked me that he's openly eyeballing other women).
The new guy I'm talking to is too good to pass up. Ex can pull out all the stops and try to outdo the guy, but he'll never manage. New Guy is kind, patient, listens to me, remembers things about me, generous, hard working, plans for the future, extremely communicative, and is actually excited about the prospect of spending even a miniscule amount of time with me. I've literally never had anyone treat me so well.
Now I wasn't born yesterday, I know New Guy could be just as full of 💩 as my ex was. That's why I'm not rushing into anything. He moves at my pace, or I'm out.
He says he has no problem with that, and said that he is happy to wait for me to trust him. 🥺 Honest to God, the ONLY red flag I've observed about New Guy is that he admits that he's messy. Something I hate, but not a deal breaker. 🤷🏻♀
Ex is a total mindfu*ck. He acts like he hates me one day, then the next day he's all compliments and kindness. He's not stable and he's petty and vindictive, so I have to play the rest of my time here very carefully. I want to spend time with New Guy, but I have to do it in a way that doesn't arouse suspicion from Ex. 😓
