Is 'the kiss' part of what women expect/want during or at the end of a first date?

I think I may have done that once in my life. Usually it's just hugs with no lip to lip contact. Perhaps I'm doing it all wrong. 8-) Or was. Haven't properly 'dated' in over 10 yrs so I'm totally unqualified to do it anymore. lol
