Dating as a Cop

Firstly, this is not a ‘woah is me’ post more than it is a genuine and sincere curiosity

As a law enforcement officer I have found it difficult to embark on the dating journey since my engagement broke off (she decided to take a job overseas and I was not ready to make that jump. We remain very good friends however)

I fully acknowledge the stigma that comes with this profession but also don’t want to be lumped into a generalization because of it.

I’m sure, in time, I’ll find someone who is comfortable with it but time will tell and perhaps it feels hopeless due the recency of the split with my fiancé. I would welcome any female (or others) perspectives and thoughts.

Many thanks in advance!!

Hopefully you find someone understanding and can handle you. Dating a Leo not to mention a Leo cop is not for the faint.

@scbrandon Leos can be very short-tempered, especially when they see an apostrophe that doesn't belong there.

@Jeephikelove The one I had kids with turned into a nightmare later.
A breakup can be difficult and yes there maybe a stigma with dating a police officer but don’t lose hope of finding a match. This would be a great time to heal and focus on your passion. Being friends with a former partner can be tricky especially if you still have feelings for that person it can feel more like opening an old wound.

@Souls that is so true. The distance between us helps with that. I am not sure if the friendship will last but we were great friends before it turned romantic and perhaps it can return to that place. Admittedly, not having constant contact is helping to alleviate the feelings and provide a feeling of moving forward. Thank you so much for your thoughtful response
@scbrandon You’re welcome! Take some time to heal, travel, start an endless bucket list, enjoy time with your family, and surround yourself with the people you love. Sometimes like flowers, we grow apart, and it’s okay to let go and move forward when the life we once shared with someone no longer aligns with our destiny. I wish you the best and recommend keeping yourself busy.

@Souls thank you again and I have already embarked on pouring myself into new things, much as you suggested. It has proven to be cathartic and therapeutic in a number of ways already. Your kindness is so appreciated

[@scbrandon ] 🤔that must of been a tough call for you too make really a toss up between your personal world and career 🤷‍♂this must have really hurt giving up the girl you love but hard as it was i suppose you had too look at the bigger picture
scbrandon · 26-30, M
@smiler2012 exactly, I wasn’t ready to uproot my life for a move of that significance and to a place I had no desire to live. Thank you for your kind response

I think it will almost always feel like it’s hopeless after something you were used to for a while. But things will change. I personally think the best relationships come when we’re not looking.
scbrandon · 26-30, M
@MellyMel22 thank you for that reminder and perspective. Something I absolutely need to remember and let things come naturally.

Do you find it difficult to embark on the dating journey as a LIBRA or a SAGITTARIUS?
scbrandon · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge Hahahahahah!!! Best response yet. Much needed levity!! Thank you lol

@scbrandon Thanks for your civilised compliment. :)

@TexChik that is so awesome! Gotta believe he has some incredible stories
TexChik · F
@scbrandon Lots of them include seeing him patch shotgun pellet hits on his plane as he got away ahead of some angry husband. His daddy was a bad boy. I never met him, he passed before I knew my husband.

@TexChik heckuva life it sounds like.
