I’m on my way home shortly, just a half day today.
I don’t like the executive power of firing staff, not for any reason but to remove someone who has become a failure in their performance within the company, only it leaves such a nasty taste in the mouths of the employees remaining. This task done, I am having lunch with colleagues before I go home again.
Tonight is date night! I’m going out with my friend Edoardo Guariglia (yes a relation to the famous Neapolitan family) and I want to have a good soak in the bath, and get ready, since he’s picking me up at seven. He is keeping where he is taking me a secret, but he has said to dress how I want to!
Rome right now is a sunny ☀ 23 degrees Celsius and at seven this evening it is expected to have only dropped a degree or so. Sunset is expected around 19:10, so I might not wear a wrap or a jacket. He is driving so I’m sure he’ll keep me warm.
Edoardo is the scion of the family and he remains unmarried, much to the consternation of his mother, like my own, she wants to see him settled down with his own family. He has been too busy having fun, she says ( he told me) just like my mother says of me.
My parents know Edoardo, his uncle is involved in several projects that the government has interest in, so I think my parents are approving of our chance relationship. I’m not sure what his Neapolitan family think of we Sicilians, it would be interesting to know!
Edoardo is a great supporter of the arts, so there are some new gallery openings in the wind, and there is always the opera!
