Reluctant Date

My cousin wants me to ask a certain girl out on a particular date. This girl is kind and sweet, and I think she likes me but honestly I’m not really attracted to her. The one thing about her that I could point out as a legit reason not to ask her out, though, is that her Facebook profile says she’s a Republican. So I’m not enthused, reluctant in fact, to ask her out, but I get the sense that I should do it anyway.

Then the date that my cousin wants me to ask this girl out on is something I’m even less comfortable with. She wants me to take this chick to a drag brunch. Now I’m not being judgmental here, there’s nothing wrong with drag shows, I just don’t see the appeal. Isn’t it basically like a beauty pageant but with men? What would we do there? Why would we enjoy that?

So any advice would be appreciated, and also any insight on what a drag brunch might entail.

@Threepio A friend once told me you don’t know whether or not you have chemistry with someone until you’ve gone on multiple dates with them. What do you think about that?
@Theyitis I think you said this: honestly I’m not really attracted to her
