The family seems to be pushing me to go on dates and put myself out there. Why?

What could I possibly have to offer exactly? I don't really have the desire to date anymore as it is. I'm cool with being alone and no matter how many times I explain this to everyone nobody seems to believe me. They all think I'm convincing myself I'm fine alone when I'm not.

I’m going through the same thing too, but more and more people are surprised if I say I wouldn’t mind going on a date because I’m 59, they think I should be in a nursing home.

@Mardrae It's strange they push you to date but then are shocked that you are open to the idea.

@NovaNine true. I am perfectly happy being alone, but if someone I really liked came along, I would be open to dating I guess, but it’s definitely no huge priority on my bucket list.

@Mardrae nah!!don't let other's opinion to influence what you want and do not. it is your opportunity to explore while still can. just be consistently enthusiastic about meeting new people and dating.

@lakshsony honestly I prefer being alone
