One of my cousins told me I’m shallow for having a checklist on the guy I want. Do you think she’s right?

I mean yea there’s no such think as the perfect relationship or perfect guy but I want to be happy. Just because he’s a nice guy doesn’t mean I want him. Sounds shallow but there has to be an attraction and spark.

He has to be:
A great personality
Similar to me
Healthy/a little muscular
Smoking’ hot but not TOO hot
6ft or taller (don’t worry I’ve dated a guy shorter than me)
Make me laugh
Successful
Kind but assertive
Hot accent

Everyone has preferences right but she told me sternly, “I think you BETTER LOWER YOUR STANDARDS! Those sound shallow and you’ll never find love if you stick with the checklist!.”

I couldn’t say anything. She shut me up so much. I told her, “At least I’m being honest. I have preferences….”
She cut me off said, “Yeah, shallow and picky. Lay off the checklist or you’re going to be a single old woman that is too stubborn to see the real love.”
She shut me up again. She’s savage and quick witted.

Not shallow, perhaps unrealistic if you don't have the same qualities to offer

Like, are you prepared for a guy who meets your standards having a list of his own and you not meeting those expectations? If so, then I guess it's fine, also, I think one should not limit themselves to a "set book of rules or standards", as there may very well be people who don't meet those requirements but can make you much happier than someone who does

Having preferences isn't bad, taking those preferences as golden rules that should never be broken, o think is. A bad idea tho.

I like your cousin tho, she sounds smart.
